Regarding removal of beef export ban to Malaysia (Ministry of Agriculture)

The Ministry of Agriculture has been working with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for negotiations with Malaysia to restart the beef exports.
From today, it is now possible to export Japanese beef processed at a Japanese beef export facility (2 facilities) take in Malaysian halal method.

Overview
Since October 2010, the Ministry of Agriculture has been discussions with Malaysian authorities in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare to export Japanese beef.
Now, Malaysian Government Authority announced that it approved Japanese beef export facilities (2 facilities) that take in Malaysia's Halal method, and in response to this, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare set "Malaysia Export Beef Handling Outline" and just notified municipalities.
With this, we have been able to export Japanese beef to Malaysia from today.

＜Main Export Conditions＞
There are no foot-and-mouth disease and BSE occurrence in Japan for 12 months before export.
To be processed at the export facility certified by the Malaysian Veterinary Services (DVS) (all processed in halal method).
There is no age restriction.

・Nishiawa Beef Japan（Tokushima）

＜Past export volume＞
Year 2007：22.72 million yen（3,094kg）Year 2008：30.89 million yen（4,244kg）Year 2009：41.19 million yen（6,392kg）
