MITSUI - Became IHH, Asia's Largest Hospital Group largest shareholder
On November 29, Mitsui & Co. (HQ: Tokyo) announced that will acquire an additional 16% of the shares of one of Asia's largest private hospital group IHH Healthcare Berhad (head office: Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, hereinafter referred to as IHH), from its largest shareholder, a wholly owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (hereinafter referred to as "Kazana Company").
As a result, Mitsui will be the largest shareholder holding 32.9% on completion of acquisition of the IHH company.

IHH is one of Asia's largest private hospital groups, operating 50 hospitals with a total of over 12,000 beds in 9 countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey and India.

Parkway Pantai which operates hospitals such as Pantai Hospital and Gleneagles which are familiar to Japanese in Malaysia is also under IHH.

Since investment IHH in 2011, Mitsui has supported IHH's business strengthening and expansion. By becoming the largest shareholder, Mitsui’s will build and expand its participation in Asia’s largest healthcare ecosystem with IHH at its core, where demand for medical care is increasing with continuous population growth and ageing.
