Copywriter cum Translator – Contract based

Job Description


・Responsible to do copywriting to create marketing materials and product descriptions for the Customers.
・Translate documents from English to Malay or vice versa in the field required by the Customers (e.g. electronics, electrical, including software and apps) and home appliances.
・Proofreading for both Malay and English.
・Responsible for all his/her jobs
・Able to meet short deadlines and follow-up on whenever necessary matters.
・Assist in and document requirements analysis, solution design and development of custom components and work on multiple project simultaneously. Contribute to customer satisfaction and project success. Must enjoy working with Customers and staff at many different levels.
・Developing abilities to eventually become an expert in localization, implementation methodology, and project management; includes progressive path to manage projects, assist with scoping and provide input to product development and more.

・Support any ad-hoc job based on the current needs.
・Performs basic quality checks on completed jobs before submission.
・Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines.
・Produce error-free content that adheres to the Customers’ style guidelines.
・Any other jobs assigned by the Supervisor or Branch Manager.

Requirements


・Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Malay and English.
・Well-organized and detail-oriented people with interpersonal skills, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills.
・Willing to learn and enthusiastic about improving skills and knowledge. Aptitude to quickly learn new products and technologies, and apply it to a Customer’s real-world business situation.
・Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
・Preferable candidate who is attentive to details, able to multi tasks, team player, professional, independent, mission-oriented and self-motivated.
・Candidate needs to have at least 2 years of experience in copy writing and translations, and 2 years of hands-on experience and demonstration of strong knowledge and relevant syntax for Java, .NET, SQL, XML, HTML, and Windows and UNIX platforms are required.
